Day 19 Cycling towards Beilngries we came upon this Shepherd who was whistling his dogs to keep the herd together. The energy of the dogs and it’s communication with the Shepherd was amazing so we watched it for a while.
Heading to south-east Germany we visit Regensburg which has a somewhat “Italian” feel to it. The weather is warm, comfortable and there are many Italian ice-cream salons and café’s with good coffee! The houses are painted in light greens, blue’s, yellow and earthy terracotta or beige which gives it a summery feeling. Here we meet our friends and fellow cyclists Luuk and Nina who came cycling from Amsterdam. 70 and 69 they are! On their way to Bratislava. No electric bikes and just like us camping and cooking and full of smiles. Respect!
A cyclist we met advised us to go and see Scots Monastry so we did. Founded in the 11th century by Irish Missionaries it is of Roman Architecture and has a beautiful decorated portal. Inside it has a sober but ancient atmosphere with many colorful details.
